Tinubu Promises Infrastructure Development in Abuja

On Wednesday, President Bola Tinubu announced that the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) will develop to reflect Nigeria's growing population and economic aspirations. He reiterated his administration's commitment to infrastructure-led development, highlighting improvements in transport connectivity to reduce logistics costs and encourage investment.

Tinubu made these remarks during the inauguration of the full scope of development for arterial Road N5, which connects Obafemi Awolowo to Life Camp Junction and Ring Road III in Dape District, Abuja. He stated that the project, funded by the current administration and awarded to Julius Berger, is set for completion within 15 months, with a flag-off scheduled for October 2024.

Tinubu emphasized the need for sustained government intervention in road infrastructure and called for citizen compliance with tax obligations to support development. He praised Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, for his efforts in executing infrastructure projects and urged community leaders to protect public infrastructure from vandalism.
