Wike Reveals His Strategy for Monitoring Criticism

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), revealed his approach to monitoring public criticism and discussions about his leadership during an interview with journalists in Abuja. He stated that he does not rely solely on reports from aides or associates but instead follows news broadcasts to gain a direct understanding of public sentiment across the country.

Wike mentioned that he regularly watches major Nigerian television stations, including Africa Independent Television (AIT) and TVC News, to stay updated and accurately informed without distortion. He emphasized the importance of being aware of ongoing conversations surrounding his office, often dedicating late nights to revisit news broadcasts before going to bed.

Wike expressed that he prefers to hear and see the discussions himself, stating, "I don’t wait for anyone to tell me what my enemies are saying; I hear it myself." This proactive approach highlights his commitment to staying informed about the public discourse related to his leadership.
