Wike explained that he prefers to receive information firsthand rather than relying on updates from third parties. He routinely monitors broadcasts, including those from major Nigerian television stations such as Africa Independent Television and TVC News.

Wike mentioned that this habit often extends late into the night, sometimes resulting in him watching broadcasts around midnight before going to bed. This practice helps him remain up-to-date with developments and public commentary related to his role and responsibilities as a minister.
