Police Recover Stolen Toyota Hilux in Kaduna, Arrest Suspect

On June 20, 2026, at approximately 1:45 PM, the FCT Police Command reported a breakthrough in a vehicle theft case. CSP Altin Daniel, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Maitama, received a distress call regarding a stolen white 2014 Toyota Hilux with registration number BWR 712 CV from the Wuse II area.

The DPO promptly led a team to the scene, discovering the vehicle missing just four minutes after the report. The police deployed along entry and exit routes of the FCT conducted a stop-and-search operation, utilizing digital tracking technology to trace the vehicle.

The Toyota Hilux was recovered in Kubacha, Kagarko Local Government Area, Kaduna State, around 3:30 PM, leading to the arrest of a suspect connected to the theft. The police are continuing their investigation to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident and identify possible accomplices.

The FCT Police Command urged residents to remain security conscious and take proactive measures to protect their vehicles.
