FCT Police Arrest 10 Suspected Traffic Robbers

On August 16, 2026, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command, led by Commissioner Ahmed Mohammed Sanusi, paraded 10 suspects involved in traffic robbery and other criminal activities. The arrests were made following public complaints about criminals disguising as hawkers along congested roads in the FCT.

Sanusi stated that all Divisional Police Officers had been instructed to clear such individuals from the roads. The arrested suspects include Umar Salihu, Yusuf Isah, Aliyu Hamza, Abubakar Naziru, Muhammed Musa, Yagugu Mohammed, Saudi Jibril, Kasimu Taraba, Abubakar Sani, and Aminu Umar.

Additionally, 20 suspects were arrested for various traffic offenses and charged to court. The police also investigated an armed robbery incident in Nyanya, leading to the arrest of Ismail Tasiu and Adamu Aliyu, who were found with stolen items, including motorcycles and weapons.

All suspects are in custody and will face charges upon investigation completion.
