FCT Revenue Jumps to Over N40bn Under Wike's Leadership

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), revealed that the territory's internally generated revenue (IGR) has surged from N9 billion to over N40 billion monthly since he assumed office. In an interview in Abuja on Thursday, Wike credited this significant revenue increase to reforms implemented by his administration, which aimed to block revenue leakages and enhance the collection of land-related revenues, including ground rent and occupancy certificates.

He emphasized that the rise in revenue has enabled the FCT Administration to execute infrastructure projects and improve service delivery across Abuja. Wike stated that the increase in IGR is a result of deliberate policy reforms and measures taken since he took office.

He also highlighted the importance of leadership accountability and efficient management of public resources, asserting that the achievements in revenue generation demonstrate the effectiveness of focused leadership and sustained efforts to enhance public sector performance.
