Oba Haastrup Advocates Federal Collaboration for Osun's Growth

Oba Adesuyi Haastrup, the Owa of Obokun in Ijesaland, stated that meaningful development in Osun State requires strong cooperation with the federal government. He made these remarks during a courtesy visit from Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, the APC governorship candidate for the August 15, 2026 election.

Haastrup noted that the people of Ijesaland are educated and politically conscious, emphasizing their desire for improved infrastructure, quality education, and better healthcare. He expressed support for Oyebamiji, calling him a humble and experienced leader, and referred to him as the "incoming governor." Haastrup also praised former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola for facilitating the construction of the Ilesa-Ibadan dual carriageway, which he described as historic for the economic growth of Ijesaland.

Additionally, he shared his vision for educational advancement in the region, aspiring to establish three functional universities in Ijesaland.
