Feyenoord Parts Ways with Coach Robin van Persie

Dutch club Feyenoord announced the departure of head coach Robin van Persie, confirming that the team will begin the 2026-2027 campaign under new leadership. In a brief statement released by the Rotterdam-based club, they expressed gratitude to van Persie for his contributions during his tenure.

Van Persie returned to his boyhood club as head coach in February 2025, with a contract that was set to run until 2027. Under his guidance, Feyenoord finished second in the Eredivisie, qualifying for the next season's UEFA Champions League.

The decision to part ways with van Persie comes after a season marked by inconsistency, finishing 19 points behind champions PSV Eindhoven. Feyenoord's newly appointed technical director, Devi Rigaux, noted that van Persie deserved credit for his efforts over the past 1.5 years, but a thorough internal analysis indicated the need for a better start next season with new leadership.
