FG Closes Applications for 2026 Civil Service Promotions

The Federal Civil Service Commission has officially closed the accreditation process for the 2026 Directorate Level Promotion Examination, which is applicable to officers on Salary Grade Levels 14, 15, and 16. The accreditation window opened on August 14, 2026, providing eligible candidates with a two-week period to complete their applications.

Officers are instructed to access the promotion portal via a web address specified in the Commission's circular, with login details sent directly to their registered email addresses. The Commission has emphasized that the deadline of August 28, 2026, will not be extended under any circumstances, indicating a stricter compliance approach this year.

Officers eligible for this examination typically hold senior positions within the federal civil service, such as directors. Promotion at this level necessitates passing a formal examination administered by the Commission.

Additionally, recent changes to the salary structure for federal civil servants have been implemented following a new directive from President Bola Tinubu's administration.
