FG Sets November 2026 Deadline for Export Reforms

The Federal Government has mandated ministries, departments, and agencies to finalize the second phase of the National Single Window by the end of November 2026, as part of efforts to eliminate regulatory and bureaucratic barriers hindering Nigerian exports. Dr Jumoke Oduwole, the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, announced this deadline during a high-level stakeholder engagement in Abuja.

The National Single Window, operational since March 27, has already processed over 124,614 licenses and permits, registered 11,096 importers and agents, and trained more than 8,000 users, facilitating approximately N12.59 billion in regulatory payments. Oduwole emphasized that the platform's success would depend on improving the speed and predictability of export procedures.

She noted that exporters had identified significant constraints related to fragmentation and poor coordination among agencies. The initiative aligns with President Bola Tinubu's goal to diversify the economy and enhance non-oil exports, aiming for a $1 trillion economy by 2030.
