FG Launches Digital HR System for Civil Service Efficiency

The Federal Government of Nigeria has officially launched the Human Resource Modules of the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS), marking a significant shift to a fully digital platform for managing staff postings, promotions, leave applications, and other personnel processes within the Federal Civil Service. Mrs Didi Esther Walson-Jack, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, announced this development during the IPPIS Go-Live Ceremony in Abuja on Monday.

She emphasized that the new system aims to replace manual processes with an integrated digital approach, enhancing efficiency and transparency. The platform will manage various functions including biometric enrolment, onboarding, payroll administration, and data analytics across 508 ministries and agencies.

Walson-Jack stated that the digitalization would eliminate lobbying for postings and reduce administrative bottlenecks, while also being developed entirely by Nigerians. She urged all ministries and agencies to adopt the platform, stressing the importance of embracing new technology to achieve effective reforms.
