FG Launches 3.5MW Solar Farm in Kebbi State

The Federal Government of Nigeria has commenced the installation of a 3.5MW solar farm in Ambursa, Kebbi State, with the intention of providing electricity to 1,500 neighboring households. The flag-off ceremony was attended by Dr.

Abba Abubakar Aliyu, the Managing Director of the Federal Rural Electrification Agency. The project includes a three-kilometer distribution network, 31 transformers, refurbishment of 5,000 solar plant batteries, and the installation of solar street lights, with a total budget of six million dollars earmarked for subsidies.

The completion timeframe for the project is set at eight months. This initiative is part of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's mandate to address electricity challenges in communities lacking reliable power supply.

Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for addressing electricity issues and emphasized the need for beneficiaries to protect the installations from tampering and vandalism.
