FG Launches 3.5MW Solar Farm Project in Kebbi State

The Federal Government has commenced the installation of a 3.5MW solar farm in Ambursa, Kebbi State, which will generate 3.5 million watts of power to provide electricity to 1,500 households. The flag-off ceremony was led by Dr.

Abba Abubakar Aliyu, the Managing Director of the Federal Rural Electrification Agency. The project includes a three-kilometer distribution network with 31 transformers, refurbishment of 5,000 solar plant batteries, and installation of solar street lights.

A total of $6 million has been earmarked for this project, which is expected to be completed within eight months. This initiative is part of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's mandate to address the electricity challenges faced by communities without reliable power supply.

Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for the financial support provided to the Federal Rural Electrification Agency to effectively perform its functions, emphasizing that solar power will complement efforts to ensure a regular electricity supply.
