Nigerian Government Implements Mandatory Drug Tests for Public Service Job Applicants

The Nigerian government has introduced mandatory drug testing for individuals seeking public service jobs as part of efforts to address the increasing drug abuse rates in the country. Segun Imohiosen, the Director of Information at the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), stated that the move is aimed at enhancing national security and productivity.

The drug screening will be conducted in collaboration with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to ensure compliance with approved standards. The initiative underscores the government's commitment to tackling substance abuse challenges and aligns with existing anti-drug policies.
