FG and Kaduna Invest ₦40bn in Ginger Processing Hub

Senator Sunday Katung disclosed that the Federal Government and Kaduna State will invest ₦40 billion to establish a ginger processing hub in Kachia Local Government Area, Kaduna State. This project, described as a major agricultural breakthrough, aims to become the largest ginger processing hub in Africa upon completion.

The Kaduna State Government has committed ₦20 billion, while the Federal Government will provide the remaining balance. The initiative is part of a broader effort to promote agro-industrialization and stimulate economic growth in Southern Kaduna.

The project is expected to enhance ginger production, reduce post-harvest losses, create employment opportunities, and stimulate economic activity across rural communities. Senator Katung emphasized that this investment aligns with President Bola Tinubu's agenda for economic diversification and reflects strong collaboration between the Federal and Kaduna State Governments.

Additionally, Katung highlighted other milestones in the district, including healthcare improvements and the establishment of educational institutions.
