FG Launches "Hire from Nigeria" Campaign for Jobs

The Federal Government of Nigeria has launched the "Hire from Nigeria" campaign, aiming to create one million export-linked jobs over the next five years by marketing Nigeria's skilled workforce to global employers. Announced by Minister of Information and National Orientation Mohammed Idris at a news conference in Abuja, the initiative seeks to enable Nigerians to secure employment with international clients without leaving the country, thereby generating foreign exchange and tax revenues.

Minister of Education Dr. Tunji Alausa highlighted that the campaign focuses on three dimensions: demand, supply, and partnership, with plans to train 35,000 Nigerians over six months through the Digital Technology Academy. The training will include international certifications funded by the government via platforms like Coursera, AWS, Microsoft, and Huawei.

Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment Dr. Jumoke Oduwole emphasized the shift in Nigeria's exports from oil to skills and digital services. The campaign aims to keep talent and earnings within Nigeria while connecting skilled workers with international employers.
