FG Launches Audit to Curb Ghost Workers in Civil Service with BVN and NIN

The Federal Government of Nigeria has initiated a comprehensive personnel audit of the civil service to combat ghost workers by collecting Bank Verification Numbers (BVN) and National Identification Numbers (NIN). The audit aims to create a verified digital database to enhance workforce efficiency and eliminate discrepancies.

The Head of Civil Service Federation announced the policy, highlighting the focus on evaluating workforce size, structure, and skill sets to improve critical areas like ICT and project management. The audit, part of President Bola Tinubu's agenda to modernize the civil service, involves a steering committee overseeing the process.
