FG Panel Investigates Bobrisky’s Alleged Preferential Treatment In Prison

An independent investigative panel has begun examining allegations of corruption, abuse of power, torture, and inhumane treatment within the Nigerian Correctional Service, with a focus on the case of controversial social media personality Bobrisky. The panel, chaired by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Magdalene Ajani, aims to determine if Bobrisky received preferential treatment during his time in prison, assess whether any reported privileges violated prison regulations, and investigate broader human rights violations within correctional facilities.

The inquiry stems from reports that Bobrisky stayed in a private apartment in prison and that officials collected bribes on his behalf. The panel is expected to present its findings on the Bobrisky case within two weeks, following his arrest in April 2024 and subsequent guilty plea and sentencing.
