Kure Leads Committee to Investigate 37 Miners' Deaths

Mr. Jonathan Kure, the chairman of a 10-man independent committee established by the federal government to investigate the deaths of 37 individuals in the custody of the National Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Minna, has pledged to ensure justice. During a visit to Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago at the government house in Minna, Kure, who is also a retired Deputy Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS), stated that the committee's medical team had already begun their work immediately after the committee's inauguration to gather necessary evidence for the investigation.

Kure emphasized the committee's commitment to maintaining its independent status and ensuring that justice is served, promising to identify any wrongdoing. Governor Bago expressed confidence in the committee's integrity and ability to uncover the circumstances surrounding the deaths, noting that the world is watching their efforts.
