FG Issues Thunderstorm Warning in Three-Day Forecast

The Federal Government of Nigeria has released a three-day weather forecast, warning citizens to prepare for thunderstorms, heavy rainfall, and the risk of flash flooding from Sunday to Tuesday. This forecast, issued by the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) on Sunday, follows a prior warning from the Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency (NIHSA) about a high risk of flooding in 17 states due to rising river levels and ongoing heavy rainfall.

On Sunday, the northern region is expected to have sunny skies with clouds in the morning, transitioning to thunderstorms and moderate rainfall in states including Taraba, Adamawa, and Kaduna. The forecast predicts similar conditions across various northern and southern states throughout the three days, with specific mentions of rainfall in states such as Borno, Gombe, and Lagos.
