NiMet Predicts Thunderstorms Across Nigeria This Week

The Federal Government of Nigeria, via the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), has released a weather forecast warning citizens to expect thunderstorms and moderate rainfall from Sunday to Tuesday. The forecast indicates that on Sunday, the northern region will experience sunny weather with patches of clouds and possible early morning thunderstorms, with light rainfall expected in Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara, Kaduna, Borno, Taraba, and Adamawa states.

Thunderstorms with moderate rainfall are anticipated later in the day. The North-Central region will see sunny skies with possible morning thunderstorms and light rainfall in Kwara, Niger, Kogi, and the Federal Capital Territory.

The southern region is expected to be predominantly cloudy with light rainfall in Oyo, Delta, Bayelsa, Cross River, and Akwa Ibom states. On Monday, the weather pattern will continue, with varying areas experiencing thunderstorms and moderate rainfall.

Tuesday will start with sunny skies in the northern region, transitioning to thunderstorms later in the day.
