FG and Rivers State Sign MoU to Boost Creative Economy

The federal government of Nigeria and the Rivers State Government signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to advance the Renewed Hope Cultural Project, which aims to expand the creative economic sector in Nigeria. Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara reaffirmed his commitment to the Oyorokoto Beach Resort project, intending to develop it into a tourism hub.

During a visit from the Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, Hanatu Musawa, Fubara highlighted the state's investment in tourism over the past three years, focusing on job creation and economic diversification. He noted that infrastructure development should include entertainment and relaxation facilities.

Musawa described the MoU as timely and aligned with President Bola Tinubu's vision for collaboration between federal and state governments to enhance the creative industry. The MoU was signed by Musawa on behalf of the federal government and Ishmael Tomonialadeokuma, Permanent Secretary of the Rivers State Ministry of Culture, on behalf of the state.
