FG Launches Fertility Centre in Borno to Enhance Healthcare

The Federal Government unveiled a fertility care centre and maternity complex on Tuesday, located within the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, constructed by the Northeast Development Commission. This solar-powered facility is equipped with advanced medical equipment, including an intracytoplasmic sperm injection machine, incubators, oxygen concentrators, Spermifuge, and laboratory equipment.

Uba Ahmadu, the Minister of State for Regional Development, stated that the facility will prevent residents from traveling outside Borno for healthcare. He emphasized President Bola Tinubu's commitment to the North East's development through significant investments in various sectors via the Northeast Development Commission.

Ahmadu also acknowledged the Borno State Government's support and urged citizens to back the Tinubu administration. Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum praised the investment in healthcare, recalling that the NEDC had previously procured modern MRI machines and CT scans for health facilities in the Northeast at a cost of approximately 70 billion naira.
