FG Commits to Reviving Kolmani Oil Field Exploration

The Federal Government has pledged to facilitate the remobilisation of exploration activities at the Kolmani Oil Field in Bauchi State. This commitment was made by Muhammad Bello, the Chairman of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission, during a verification visit to the site.

Bello stated that the commission aimed to assess the project's current state and advocate for its continuation, highlighting its importance for Bauchi State, the North-East, and Nigeria as a whole. He noted that President Muhammadu Buhari is concerned about the project and has assured the governors of support for its continuation.

The Bauchi State Commissioner for Natural Resources, Maiwada Bello, indicated that exploration activities had ceased since July 2025, prompting the state government to engage with the technical company managing the project. The Bauchi State Government, under Governor Bala Mohammed, is prepared to provide necessary manpower and support for the exploration project.
