Fieldreams Challenges Forfeiture of 52 Lekki Homes

Fieldreams and promoter Ifeanyi Nweke have filed an appeal against the final forfeiture of 52 residential units located in Mercyville Estate, Lekki Peninsula, Lagos State. They are seeking a stay of execution of the Federal High Court's judgment delivered on July 14, 2026, which ordered the forfeiture.

The appeal, represented by counsel Victor Ukutt, argues that the court lacked jurisdiction, misinterpreted forfeiture provisions, and denied fair hearing. They contend that there was no evidence establishing that the properties were acquired through unlawful activities related to advance fee fraud or money laundering.

The appeal also claims that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has acted hastily in enforcing the judgment, disrupting residents despite a pending appeal. The appellants have requested the court to maintain the status quo until the appeal is determined, expressing concerns over the EFCC's actions and the potential abuse of court processes.
