Explosion at Plateau Filling Station Kills Two, Injures Three

On Saturday, the Plateau State Police Command confirmed that an explosion at the Natti Petroleum Investment Nigeria Ltd filling station in Daffo District, Bokko Local Government Area, led to the deaths of two people, including 24-year-old Emmanuel Mapak, and injuries to three others. The police clarified that the incident was mistakenly reported online as a bomb blast, emphasizing it was an industrial accident during ongoing repair work on an underground storage tank.

Upon receiving reports of the explosion, the police dispatched a team to manage the situation and ensure the victims received medical attention. The deceased were taken to the morgue, while the injured were evacuated to a cottage hospital in Bokko.

The police also deployed an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit to investigate the cause of the explosion, confirming it was not related to terrorism. The police urged the public to refrain from spreading unverified information that could cause panic.
