Fire Outbreaks Destroy Properties in Anambra State

Between Monday and Tuesday, three fire outbreaks occurred in Anambra State, affecting Keystone Bank on Port Harcourt Road, a bookshop at No. 3 Venin Ezeani Street, and a one-storey commercial building with 10 shops along Ifite Road in Amaenyi, Awka. The Anambra State Fire Service chief, Chukwudi Chiketa, confirmed that firefighters promptly responded to the incidents, containing the fires and preventing further damage.

The fire at Keystone Bank was attributed to a power surge, while the fire at the commercial building was suspected to be caused by an electrical fault involving an electric iron. The cause of the fire at the bookshop was not determined at the time of reporting.

Fortunately, no casualties were reported in any of the incidents. The fire at the commercial building began at midnight, affecting two shops and their contents, while the bank fire was reported at approximately 09:08 hours on Monday.
