Kano Fire Service Contain Two Separate Fire Outbreaks

On Monday, the Kano State Fire Service responded to two fire outbreaks in Kano. The first incident occurred at an Access Bank branch in Dawanau, Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area, at approximately 1:17 pm.

A caller named Michael alerted the Emergency Response Unit, leading firefighters from the Dawanau Fire Station to the scene, where they found a one-storey bank building on fire. The blaze engulfed a Mikano generator and slightly affected an electrical transformer.

Firefighters successfully contained the fire, preventing further damage. The second incident took place at 6:19 pm in Sabuwar Gandu, Sheka Gari, Kumbotso Local Government Area, after a distress call from Ahmad Mainama.

Firefighters from the Sharada Industrial Area Fire Station responded to a ground-floor residential building fire, affecting two bedrooms, a parlour, and a kitchen. They controlled the situation using jets from their fire truck and support from nearby factories.

The causes of both fires are under investigation. Alhaji Sani Anas, Director of the Kano State Fire Service, urged residents to remain vigilant and implement fire safety measures.
