First Lady Launches National Food Bank in South-East

On a recent visit to South-East Nigeria, First Lady Mrs. Tinubu officially launched the National Food Bank Programme, marking the completion of its rollout across the country’s six geopolitical zones. Speaking at Alex Ekwueme Square, she urged that political differences should be set aside to meet the needs of Nigerians, particularly in enhancing child nutrition.

During the event, she praised Anambra State Governor, Professor Charles Soludo, for his progressive policies. Additionally, Mrs. Tinubu inaugurated a Renewed Hope Initiative/Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) ICT Experience Centre at the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, encouraging students to leverage technology, especially artificial intelligence, to tackle societal issues.

She also announced a financial grant of N100,000 for each of the 5,000 beneficiaries receiving empowerment items from the Anambra State Government. In recognition of her contributions, she was conferred with the traditional title of Ugoeze of Anambra by Igwe Chidubem Iweka.
