First Lady Praises Wike for Abuja City Gate Transformation

During a ceremony honoring the Federal Capital Territory Administration for its environmental efforts, Nigeria's First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, praised Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, for the transformation of Abuja's City Gate into a significant recreational and environmental landmark. She described the transformation as "unbelievable" and highlighted the ₦50 million prize under the Green Nigeria Challenge aimed at encouraging states to reclaim abandoned spaces, noting that no state participated in that category.

Senator Tinubu explained that the initiative encourages the conversion of neglected public spaces into attractive environments, promoting healthier communities. She appealed to the Wives of State Governors to mobilize youth for environmental clubs and sustainability initiatives.

Wike acknowledged that the First Lady personally inspired the City Gate's transformation, emphasizing the need for youth engagement in national development through environmental stewardship.
