First Lady Praises Wike for Abuja City Gate Transformation

During a ceremony honoring the Federal Capital Territory Administration for its environmental efforts, Nigeria's First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, praised Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, for the transformation of Abuja's City Gate into a significant recreational and environmental landmark. She described the transformation as “unbelievable” and noted that a ₦50 million prize for states to reclaim abandoned spaces went unclaimed.

The initiative aims to encourage states to convert neglected public areas into attractive environments, promoting healthier communities. Senator Tinubu urged state governors' wives to mobilize youth for environmental clubs and sustainability initiatives.

She stressed the need for young people to engage in national development through environmental stewardship. Nyesom Wike acknowledged that the First Lady inspired the City Gate's transformation, highlighting the collaboration between their efforts to enhance Abuja's public spaces.
