Five Confirmed Dead in Kano Rainstorm, Says KASEMA

The Kano State Emergency Management Agency confirmed that five individuals lost their lives due to a severe rainstorm that struck Bichi Local Government Area on Wednesday, 22nd July 2026. Alhaji Isyaku Kubarachi, the Executive Secretary of the agency, clarified that the casualty figure was five, correcting earlier reports that erroneously stated eight deaths.

Following the incident, agency personnel conducted an assessment to evaluate the damage caused by the storm, which included the destruction of houses and valuable properties worth millions of naira. Kubarachi stated that a comprehensive report detailing the casualties and damage had been submitted to the state government.

He assured that relief materials would be distributed to the affected individuals once received from the government, emphasizing the agency's commitment to assisting the victims of this disaster.
