Rainstorm in Sokoto Claims Four Lives, Destroys Homes

A rainstorm in Sokoto has led to the deaths of four individuals and caused extensive damage to numerous houses and critical public infrastructure, including a primary school and a hospital. The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has initiated an assessment to evaluate the extent of the destruction and identify immediate humanitarian needs for the victims.

The storm has displaced hundreds of families, with many homes either destroyed or severely damaged. Various residents sustained injuries of varying degrees.

NEMA's assessment aims to establish the scale of the damage to facilitate timely emergency response and provision of relief materials to the affected communities.
