Florence Ajimobi Strengthens Influence in Oyo APC

Florence Ajimobi, the former First Lady of Oyo State and wife of the late Governor Abiola Ajimobi, is taking a commanding role within the Oyo APC structure, despite not holding a formal chairmanship. Her influence is evident as she convened a meeting in Lagos that brought together key figures, including party chairman Chief Mose Adeyemo, Minister Adebayo Adelabu, and Senator Teslim Folarin.

The meeting aimed to reduce friction within the party and prepare for the upcoming 2027 elections. Ajimobi emphasized the need for unity and mobilization, stating that there is no room for complacency.

She has also pushed back against claims linking her to a plot to impeach current Governor Seyi Makinde, labeling such reports as political fiction. While her position remains influential, her public appearances are limited, focusing instead on private meetings to shape party strategies and rebuild electoral strength in Oyo APC.
