FMLD Distributes Livestock Feed Inputs to Bayelsa Farmers

On 8 August 2026, the Federal Ministry of Livestock Development (FMLD) distributed over 1,000 livestock feed inputs to farmers in Bayelsa State. This initiative, executed by the Department of Ranch and Pastoral Resources Development, aims to strengthen livestock production, improve farmers' livelihoods, and enhance food security.

Dr. Hakeem Ibilade, representing Honourable Minister Hon. Idi Mukhtar Maiha, described the intervention as a response to farmers' feedback and emphasized the Ministry's commitment to a farmer-centered approach. He urged beneficiaries to utilize the inputs responsibly and to form cooperative groups for better access to future support.

Dr. Unobong, the State Coordinator, noted that the distribution included groundnut cake and salt licks to improve animal nutrition. He reaffirmed the Ministry's commitment to supporting livestock farmers nationwide.

Dr. Bamigboye added that the program aims to contribute to sustainable food security and increase the availability of nutritious livestock products in Bayelsa State.
