FMOH Inaugurates Sub-Committees for 67th NCH

On August 20, 2026, the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare inaugurated the Sub-Committees for the 67th Regular National Council on Health (NCH), scheduled to take place from November 16-20, 2026, in Lafia, Nasarawa State. The theme for this year's council is “From Commitment to Results: Delivering Quality and Equitable Healthcare for All Nigerians.” The Permanent Secretary, represented by Dr. John Ovuoraye, emphasized the importance of the National Council on Health as a platform for policy dialogue and decision-making in Nigeria's health sector.

She urged the Sub-Committee members to approach their responsibilities with diligence, integrity, and professionalism. The Nasarawa State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Shekwonugaza Gwamna, represented by Dr. Ibrahim Adamu Hassan, welcomed participants and expressed the state's readiness to collaborate with the Federal Ministry for a successful council.

The inaugural meeting addressed key preparatory issues, including the roles of Sub-Committee Chairmen, the finalization of the NCH logo, and submission guidelines for memoranda.
