ADC Chieftain Urges Tinubu to Focus on Economy

Dr. Chike Okogwu, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and National Leader of Persons with Disabilities, called on President Bola Tinubu to focus on Nigeria's pressing economic and social issues rather than engaging in political conflicts.

In a statement made on Saturday, Okogwu highlighted the urgent challenges facing Nigerians, including rising inflation, unemployment, insecurity, and the increasing cost of living. He urged the President to prioritize policies that improve living conditions and to pay less attention to political opponents.

Okogwu also addressed the barriers faced by Persons with Disabilities in accessing healthcare, education, and employment, despite existing legal protections. He called for the full implementation of the Discrimination Against Persons with Disabilities (Prohibition) Act and emphasized that disability inclusion should be viewed as a constitutional right.

His remarks come as political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections, with opposition parties criticizing the Tinubu administration's handling of the economy.
