Sérgio Conceição Praises Zaidu Sanusi Amid Contract Talks

FC Porto coach Sérgio Conceição praised Super Eagles defender Zaidu Sanusi for his exceptional pace and ability to cover the left flank during a DAZN programme. Reflecting on Porto's 2-0 Champions League victory over Bayer Leverkusen in October 2022, Conceição defended Sanusi against claims that he had not proven his worth, stating that the defender had justified the faith placed in him.

Conceição emphasized Sanusi's physical qualities, noting his speed and effectiveness on the left side of the pitch. Porto is reportedly preparing to offer Sanusi a new contract, as his current deal expires at the end of the season, allowing him to negotiate with other clubs from January if no agreement is reached.

Sanusi, who has featured in five matches this season, is currently sidelined due to an adductor injury sustained during Porto's 3-0 victory over Académico de Viseu, which could keep him out for approximately two months. He joined Porto from Santa Clara in August 2020 and has won multiple titles with the club.
