Ojudu Critiques Tinubu's 2027 Campaign Council Composition

Babafemi Ojudu, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), criticized the 108-member campaign council for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's 2027 presidential election bid. In a statement on his Facebook page, Ojudu described the council as a mix of political figures, including those with strong reputations and others whose records could raise voter concerns.

He referred to the members as “saints and former sinners, the tried and the tired, reformers and those still awaiting reform.” Ojudu cautioned that the council includes individuals whose names might inspire confidence alongside those that could prompt financial scrutiny. He emphasized that a campaign seeking the trust of Nigerians should not appear to protect controversial figures.

Ojudu, who served as Special Adviser on Political Matters during Muhammadu Buhari's presidency and was a senator for Ekiti Central, had previously opposed Tinubu's presidential bid in favor of Yemi Osinbajo during the 2023 primaries. As of the report, the APC had not publicly responded to Ojudu's criticisms.
