Rainstorm in Sokoto Claims Four Lives, Causes Damage

A devastating rainstorm in Kware Local Government Area, Sokoto State, has led to the confirmed deaths of four individuals, as reported by Tukur Abubakar, the head of the Sokoto field office of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA). The agency conducted a damage assessment following the storm, which affected hundreds of households and resulted in injuries to several people.

Preliminary findings revealed extensive damage to homes and critical public infrastructure, including primary schools and hospitals. The assessment team recorded severe impacts on the affected communities, including Mallamawa, Mai Mush, Kaura, Sabon Gari, and Rungin Tsamiya.

NEMA is now working to determine the full extent of the damage and identify immediate humanitarian needs for the impacted communities.
