Delta Police Arrest Four for Counterfeit Dollar Operation

On June 9, 2026, the Delta State Police Command arrested four suspects—Joshua Nwaosa, Daniel Arhew, Princ Chukwuma, and John Egwuba—during an operation targeting a five-man syndicate involved in defrauding the public with counterfeit U.S. dollar bills. The police recovered $1,600 in counterfeit notes concealed in military camouflage within a premises in Asaba.

The operation was conducted by the Special Anti-Kidnap Unit following credible intelligence. Preliminary interrogations revealed the suspects' involvement in the counterfeit operation.

Additionally, on June 11, the police apprehended two female suspects, Ifeoma Egbul and Anayeokwu Florenc, in Ika North East Local Government Area, who were found with illicit substances. Delta State Commissioner of Police, Yemi Oyeniyi, commended the professionalism and diligence of the officers involved in these operations, emphasizing the commitment to dismantling criminal networks in the state.
