Six Arrested in Ekiti Cult Clash at Hotel

The Ekiti State Police arrested six suspected members of the Alora Confraternity after a violent clash at a hotel in Ikere Ekiti on Saturday, August 1. Police Public Relations Officer, Sunday Abutu, reported that the suspects were gathered for a meeting when a physical confrontation broke out.

One member, known as Sucrose, sustained severe injuries and was hospitalized. The Rapid Response Squad, along with Ilupeju Division surveillance operatives, intervened, leading to the suspects' arrest.

Items recovered included a Toyota Camry, Alora-branded fez caps and cups, a blood-stained shirt, scissors, a yellow headband, and a key holder. Commissioner of Police Michael Falade directed an intensified investigation and a manhunt for additional suspects.

The hotel is also under investigation for allowing suspected cult activities. Falade reiterated the police command's zero tolerance for cultism and urged the public to provide information to aid in apprehending remaining suspects.
