Fire Destroys Four Vehicles at Oyo Mechanic Workshop

On June 13, 2026, a fire broke out at a mechanic workshop located on Togund Street in the Akingbad area along Old If Road, Egbeda Local Government Area, Oyo State, destroying four vehicles and a container. The incident occurred at approximately 9:16 PM, as reported by the Oyo State Fire Service Agency.

Moroof Akinwand, the Chairman of the agency, stated that the fire was caused by a spark in the engine compartment, igniting combustible materials. Fortunately, no lives were lost during the incident.

Fire personnel, led by CF Adekola, were promptly mobilized to the scene after receiving a distress call from Mr. Damola.

Upon arrival, they found the workshop engulfed in flames and thick smoke. The fire was swiftly contained, preventing further damage to nearby properties.

Akinwand urged the public to remain conscious of fire safety and to install fire extinguishers in workshops and vehicles to mitigate fire incidents.
