The Foursquare Gospel Church Nigeria, represented by General Overseer Sam Aboyeji, has expressed alarm over the worsening security situation in the country, particularly in northern Nigeria, where violence and kidnappings have led to loss of lives and displacement of communities. In a statement made during a press conference in Lagos, Aboyeji called for urgent spiritual collective responses from Christians, urging them not to become indifferent to the crisis. He highlighted the troubling reality faced by families affected by insecurity and called for sustained prayer support for Nigeria's armed forces and security agencies. The church is also preparing for its 2026 International Conference, scheduled for April 13-16, 2026, at the church's campground along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, expecting around 10,000 participants. The conference will focus on spiritual growth and leadership development, aiming to strengthen Christian leaders in addressing societal challenges.
