Olympic silver and bronze medallist Fred Kerley has been suspended for breaching the whereabouts rule, as announced on Tuesday. The 29-year-old, who won the 2022 world championship in the men's 100 meters, intends to contest the charge, with his attorney stating that at least one missed test will be challenged.

Kerley, known for switching from the 400m to dominate the 100m, withdrew from the track and field trials last month, citing personal challenges. The AIU whereabouts rule requires elite athletes to provide daily location details for testing, with three failures within 12 months leading to a two-year ban.
