DSS Investigates Senator Buba Over Alleged Bandit Links

Senator Shehu Buba, representing Bauchi South Senatorial District, is under investigation by the Department of State Services (DSS) due to allegations linking him to bandits and associates of notorious criminal kingpin Dogo Gide. These allegations have resurfaced, reigniting past controversies regarding Buba's connections to suspected banditry in northern Nigeria.

Buba has categorically denied these claims, asserting they are politically motivated attempts to tarnish his reputation ahead of the 2027 elections. The accusations were made by a resident named Hassan during an interview with social media influencer D English Alhaji Media, who alleged that Buba had ties to individuals involved in criminal activities.

Buba responded in an interview with Albarka Radio, detailing his past assistance to Hassan, who he claims abandoned his education and later recorded materials used against him. Buba reported the situation to the Inspector-General of Police, resulting in the arrest of four suspects, with court proceedings underway.

He stated that Hassan has fled to Niger Republic but continues to broadcast on social media.
