Nathan Ake Joins Fenerbahce from Manchester City

Nathan Ake has officially transferred from Manchester City to Fenerbahce, concluding a successful six-year period in the Premier League. The Turkish club confirmed the signing on Friday, although they did not disclose the duration of Ake's contract or the transfer fee involved.

Ake, who joined Manchester City from Bournemouth in 2020 for a reported fee of £45 million, made 177 appearances and won 12 major trophies during his time at the Etihad Stadium. The 31-year-old defender has also represented the Netherlands in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, starting in three of the four matches for the national team.

Ake's experience is expected to bolster Fenerbahce's defensive options as they aim to reclaim the Turkish Super Lig title, having narrowly missed out last season by finishing just one point behind champions Galatasaray. Fenerbahce is under the management of Domenico Tedesco, with Ismail Kartal reappointed for a fourth spell at the club.
