Nathan Ake Joins Fenerbahce After Six Years at City

Nathan Ake has officially completed his transfer from Manchester City to Fenerbahce, marking the end of a six-year tenure at the Premier League club. The transfer was confirmed by Fenerbahce on a Friday, although the duration of Ake's contract and the transfer fee have not been disclosed.

Ake, who joined Manchester City from Bournemouth in 2020 for a reported fee of £45 million, made 177 appearances and won 12 major trophies during his time at the Etihad Stadium. The 31-year-old defender played a significant role in Manchester City's domestic and European successes.

He also represented the Netherlands in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, starting three of the four matches for the national team. Ake's experience is expected to bolster Fenerbahce's defense as they aim to reclaim the Turkish Super Lig title after finishing just one point behind champions Galatasaray last season.

The club, now under head coach Domenico Tedesco, hopes Ake's leadership will enhance their title ambitions for the 2026-27 season.
