FRSC Arrests 22 for Traffic Offences in Anambra

On July 22, 2026, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) RS 5.3 Anambra Sector Command conducted a Zonal Special Intervention Patrol named “Fushin Kada” Mobile Court Exercise along the Awka–Onitsha expressway, resulting in the arrest of 22 individuals for 61 various traffic offences. SRC Margaret Onabe, the Sector Public Education Officer, reported that 21 of the offenders were convicted, while 1 was discharged by the court presided over by Her Worship Maria Anyabolu.

The offences included Seatbelt Use Violation (6), Overloading (7), Drivers Licence Violation (4), Failure to install Speed Limiting Device (12), Assaulting a Marshal on Duty (1), Dangerous Driving (2), Number Plate Violation (4), and Attempting to Corrupt a Marshal on Duty (1). Corps Commander Bridget Asekhauno emphasized that the exercise aimed to ensure compliance with traffic laws, promote responsible road use, and reduce road traffic crashes.

The FRSC urged all motorists to adhere to traffic regulations and maintain valid vehicle and driver documentation.
