FRSC Arrests 121 Motorists for Traffic Offences in Anambra

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Anambra Sector Command, arrested 121 motorists for committing 214 traffic offences during its ongoing “Operation total compliance” conducted across Anambra state. State Sector Commander Bridget Asekhauno, represented by DCC Gloria Ezeugwu, disclosed this during an enforcement exercise in Awka on Wednesday.

The three-day nationwide operation was executed simultaneously across the corps’ 12 zones, aiming to educate motorists on road safety regulations, enforce compliance, and reduce traffic violations that often result in road crashes. Asekhauno reported that the offences included overloading, failure to use speed limiting devices, driving without valid licences, attempted bribery of FRSC personnel, dangerous driving, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Specific arrests included 27 for overloading, 34 for speed limiting device violations, and 10 for driving without valid licences. Asekhauno urged motorists to obey traffic regulations and develop safer driving habits, especially ahead of the ember months.
